Cowardly Academics

Insanity is prevailing.

The London School of Economics has just banned the highly articulate and intelligent Douglas Murray, the author and Director of the Centre for Social Cohesion, from their campus.

Murray was to have chaired a debate about Islam titled “Islam or Liberalism. Which is the Way Forward?” The reason given was “security concerns.”

According to Damian Thompson, of the London Telegraph, the School had no such fears when known “members of Al-Mujaharoun, a pro-terror Islamist organisation,” spoke there. Thompson was in attendance. “The presence of the group was announced in advance, but that was OK with the School. Presumably that was because it was also OK with the Islamic campus ideologues in front of whom it cowers.’ ”

This is truly absurd. According to Peter Whittle, Director of the New Culture Forum (who, to his credit, has just invited Murray to chair their first program of 2009):

“The ban on Mr Murray is outrageous. Even more worrying however is the total silence on such occasions from our elected ‘representatives’ in public life. Are they cowards? Are they in denial? Certainly, Douglas Murray is neither. ”

Douglas Murray appeared on BBC1's 'The Big Questions' a few weeks back, when he took part in a debate about Israel's response to Hamas, in Gaza. Murray was fair, polite and in command of the facts. He also refused to condemn Israel for defending herself following eight years of Hamas terrorism.

The LSE powers-that-be should hang their heads in shame.

Police dogs made to wear slippers to avoid offending Muslims

Police sniffer dogs will have to wear slippers when searching the homes of Muslims so as not to cause offence.

Guidelines being drawn up by the Association of Chief Police Officers (Acpo) urge awareness of religious sensitivities when using dogs to search for drugs and explosives.

Where dogs are used, they will have to wear bootees with rubber soles. “We are trying to ensure that police forces are aware of sensitivities that people can have with the dogs to make sure they are not going against any religious or cultural element within people’s homes. It is being addressed and forces are working towards doing it,” Acpo said.

Islamic injunctions warn Muslims against contact with dogs, which are regarded as “unclean”.

John Midgley, co-founder of the Campaign Against Political Correctness, said: “The police are in effect being overly sensitive to potential criminals and not being sensitive enough to the public at large who need to be protected. These sort of things have a counter-productive effect because they cause huge friction between different communities.”

Caroline Kisko, of the Kennel Club, said: “We would not condone any attempt to make search dogs wear special clothing, which could cause them distress.”

80 FOREIGN KILLERS WELCOMED TO UK

Eighty foreign criminals have been allowed to remain as British citizens - despite being on Interpol's 'Wanted' list.

Many travelled from Calais to Dover hidden in lorries on ferries. They then used fake names and papers to claim asylum, often posing as refugees from Kosovo.

The Albanian government has informed the Home Office that these men are guilty of crimes including rape, murder and robbery. Albanian criminals have been using loopholes in the extradition laws to avoid being deported from Britain. And if they have become British citizens, then they are protected under the Human Rights Act 1988, which means they can't be deported as their family life 'would be disrupted'.

Many of these criminals are getting state benefits; others have gone on to commit crimes here in Britain. Ahmet Prenci, the Albanian chief of police, said:
'We have a list of our people who are hiding in the UK. There are 100. More than 80% are wanted for murder.' And he added: 'We are unhappy that the British courts keep refusing extradition of these people.'

More than 300,000 asylum claims have not been processed and nine out of ten foreigners refused asylum are not deported.

'We're All Hamas Now'

So, when did the love affair between Britain and Hamas begin?

It certainly wasn't back in 2005, when Islamic terrorists strolled onto London tube trains and then proceeded to blow both themselves and those around them into little pieces. No. The Brits were livid and terrified in equal measure - hardly a sympathetic audience for any Islamic extremist group.

And yet.

Fast forward to 2009 and what do we have? Mass rallies, marching through central London, bearing banners declaring that all Israelis, Jews and 'zionists' are 'murderers'. Young Muslim and non Muslim men, their faces masked, their voices rough with hate, declaring affiliation to Hamas as they set about smashing up nearby shops and hurling rocks at the police.

And hundreds of thousands of ordinary British people, screaming their loathing of Israel for
daring to react to the relentless missile attacks by terrorist group Hamas. This has been the scene in cities across the UK as the British swear their allegiance to Hamas.

It beggars belief.

As for the British media, with the possible exceptions of the Daily Express, The Times, and The Sun, most of the newspapers have been gleefully casting Israel as the villain of the piece. No mention of the thousands of dead Israelis, courtesy of all the Hamas suicide bombers and rockets over the past eight years. No harrowing images of Israeli mothers weeping over the corpses of their children. No shots of Israeli homes lying in ruins after suffering missile assaults.

Instead, we Brits have been fed a steady diet of partisan and at times, downright deceitful 'journalism'.

So is it any wonder that the British public is short on sympathy for Israel right now? Even so, their bloodcurdling cries of 'We Are All Hamas Now' are still enough to make British Jews look at one another uneasily and ensure they have an up to date passport at home...

And of course, honourable mention must go to the BBC, which has not once pointed out that Israel's actions were in *response* to the Hamas attacks. Incredibly, even Al Jazeera has been more even handed in its coverage, for at least it offered a platform to an Israeli army spokesman who wanted to set the record straight and convey the fact that Israel is not at war with the Palestinians - it just has to stop Hamas.

Most Brits seem to think that Hamas is some small, badly organised, underfunded little band of Palestinian men, dedicated to 'freeing palestine'. This romanticised image defines Hamas as 'freedom fighters' and Israelis as 'oppressors'. And woe betide anyone who tries to explain that this view ignores basic, objective fact.

For let's be crystal clear:

Hamas is a big, highly organised offshoot of the Muslim Brotherhood; a radical Islamic organisation that shares much in common with Al Queda. Hamas doesn't want to 'free palestine'. It just wants to destroy Israel. The official Hamas Charter openly says this, as do many Hamas leaders, in their charming little videos on how to destroy the 'jewish enemy and bathe the region in jewish blood'.

And Hamas has money. Forget what the BBC keep claiming about these 'homemade rockets'. It's bull, frankly. Hamas receives millions a year from Iran and Syria. More: much of the financial aid that pours into Gaza gets diverted to Hamas and thus to terrorism.

Hamas leaders teach and preach Jihad. They urge all young Palestinians, from the age of five upwards, to become a 'shahid', or 'martyr for allah'. They boast about using innocents as human shields and they celebrate when Americans, Brits and indeed anyone in the West dies as a result of terrorism.

But don't take my word for it. You don't need to. Here is Hamas cheerfully conveying what it believes in and what it desires:

Hamas: religious duty to kill Jews
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Lsvqcp4aWF8

Hamas: Islam must commit genocide on all Jews:
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=YKeAVBYAbn0&feature=related

And before assuming that Hamas doesn't represent what the majority of decent Palestinians feel, note that non Hamas and so called 'moderate' Palestinian Authority leaders are clearly reading from the same hymn book. And it 'aint pretty:

Palestinian religious leader: 'The Jews are the AIDS of the world'

2000, Gaza Mosque: Imam insists: 'Jews must be butchered'

Remember: the Palestinians voted Hamas into power in free and democratically held elections. And they knew what Hamas stood for when they did so.

Just like Brits know full well what Hamas stands for. And just like the Palestinians, they don't give a damn.

Seems like British dislike of Jews is stronger than their fear of Islamic extremists.
